Leocorno!
While we slept, they ran the Palio Dell'Assunta. I guess while i was thinking that maybe i'd try to watch it on a TV, i didn't really think about the time difference.

Leocorno won.

The slamming-into-walls bit is a bit shocking, but the part i can't get over is the mobbing at the end.

So what happens if one of the riderless horses wins?

The horse is what counts; the horse is the important part. It doesn't matter if the jockey is on or not. They bless the horse in the contrada's church, etcetera.

The jockeys are considered just mercenaries, and may all be being bribed by multiple rival contrade. They're generally not from Siena.

I think it's maybe Drago's horse that's doing so well on its own.
